Do you or your family make any special dishes(desserts) for the holidays?

Not sure this can count as a “dish” but I make Death By Chocolate every year. My family looks forward to it as adults and kids alike love it! I am not sure where I got the recipe but I have changed it a little here and there over the years. It’s super easy and feeds a lot of people. It’s also very pretty to place on your table as it’s made in a clear trifle dish. You can also make individual servings in a clear 12 oz cup. Here’s the super simple recipe and a few pics (not mine) below. Let me know if you try it out!

Prepare a devils food cake mix according to package.

Prepare 4 cups (2 boxes) of instant chocolate pudding. Refrigerate until it’s set up.

2 large container of Cool Whip or generic brand is fine.

Crush several Heath or Skor candy bars. I also like to crush in a few peppermint candy canes. It adds color and flavor.

All you are going to do is now lay it in your trifle dish. Start with a layer of the cake then a layer of chocolate pudding, then a layer of the Cool Whip and then sprinkle your candy bars and candy cane on top of the Cool Whip and then repeat the layers ending with the Cool Whip and candy bars on the top. That’s it! Refrigerate then serve! Enjoy! 😋
